problems again...

Featured Replies

hi, ive posted a few times about problems with my fabia, ems light came on a while a go, apparently they fixed it but wouldn't say what it was as it was under warranty. Then they apparently fixed my air con and the battery totally drained over night twice, tok it to a main skoda dealer and i need a new air con unit £500...

new chapter to the story

drove miles home from work this afternoon parked on the drive put it in neutral and the revs stated going up and down and the car was shaking... the revs were fluctuating about 1 - 2 thousand revs. then this evening went for a meal drove a mile home and the same happened again, opened the bonnet and the engine was shaking really bad... and the ems light came on again and sntarted flashing...

can anyone shed any light on this for me please, warranty runs out in about 3 weeks and i can't afford to pay out for it every month when it goes wrong... im taking it back to the garage on monday and saying i want my money back.... any advice on what the problem might be

would be greatly appreciated...

thanks :)

What model engine is it? The 1.4 16v is known to have this problem (possibly others too) and I've certainly had this problem. It cost me £100 to have the throttle body cleaned and a throttle alignment done, this seems to have done the trick and seems to be the generally recognised solution for this problem. Mine didn't have the EMS light though. If you've got a warning light then that suggests there will be an error code stored on the ECU which you can read with VAG Com. Other common faults that may lead to similar symptoms would probably be the temperature sensor or a lambda sensor.

Our Lupo with the 1.4 16v started doing this after not being used for a few weeks: a good run and a throttle body alignment with VAG-COM cured it.
