Coolant Temp Sensor & 12v Charger

Featured Replies

Couple of question's: - Car is 2003 Skoda Fabia Classic 1.2

1) How much am I looking all in (inc labour) to fit a new coolant temp sensor?

2) My 12v car charger in my car has not worked since I had it - just over a year ago - not sure what the problem, may even just be the fuse needs changing but before I get in to that. The port that the charger would plug into seems to have a small 'pin' like thing about a cm long sticking upwards in the middle of it thus preventing me fully plugging in any standard UK phone charger / sat nav's etc... Ive no idea if the car is an import on not so just wondering if anyone knows if this might be what a European 12v car charger port would look like? And if so can it be switched to a UK port easily?.. or if not what could be the problem with the port?

Thanks

1) About £50 all in

2) All ciger lighter sockets should be the same, sure there isnt something stuck in there?

Please refrain from posting the same thread in multiplr forums, someone will read it and reply.

Cheers for the response (and soz about the mltiple postings).

Lol i've just had a double check and it seems as though was a biro nib stuck in there which ive now removed. However, had just tried to charge from it again and still doesnt work so am going to change the fuse and see if that makes any difference. Is this difficult to do and could someone run me through how to do it?

Cheers

I would think the biro nib has shorted out the socket so it will have blown the fuse.

There is a listing on here somewhere of all the fuses and their locations.

Theres this one on Stu's site Fabia-vrs.com - Fuse Panel Layout

That shows all the fuses in the box (on the right hand end of the dash, inside the end panle when you open the door, use your key to find the lip and open it)

Be aware that the majority of them are mini blade fuses, not the usual larger ones (though some are)
