i recentley had some lovely children egg and milk my car (little sh*ts) and they threw the eggs that hard there are three massive circular scattered bits of paint and scratches on my back n/s panel. want to get the panel resprayed as car is only four weeks old so anyone know how much it should roughly cost (i want a good job done too)

Well, it may give you some idea when I tell you that I was quoted £250 to respray half of my rear bumper (Fab 3 estate) after it got damaged by an unknown person in a car park. Respraying a rear panel is going to be in that order of magnitude, if not more. My car was just under two months old when it got damaged, it's very frustrating and I can understand how you must feel.

Have you tried to get a price of a new rear bumper? I had some scrape marks on my Fabia MK1 bumper (Again some unknown persons) and the body shop quoted something like £150, just out of interest, I costed up a replacement colour matched bumper and actually was a lot cheaper. In the the end, found that the damage wasn't that serious so sorted it out myself

No, I haven't costed up a new rear bumper - I have parking sensors and I suspect that will be even more expensive. I know when I had to replace the front bumper on a Corsa (no fog lights or anything) after a painful encounter with a Muntjac deer some nine years ago, it was £365. The scuffs are relatively minor, and the dent barely noticeable, so I am leaving it for now and we'll see if someone else does a more dramatic job of it.

Back to the original poster's query, it may be worth looking at a smart repair on this occasion - they will smooth out the paintwork and respray the damaged bit with some overlap onto the surrounding paint, it depends on whether you've got a metallic finish or not.

These incidents are expensive and frustrating, hopefully the new reg coming out next week will give 08 cars a rest from the green eyed monsters.
