Water/Methanol Injection

Featured Replies

Just looking into ordering a Devilsown kit for the water/methanol injection and have read some good reports on running both pre and post turbo injection. Has anyone tried this on the PD engine? Was looking at running a 1gph nozzle pre turbo and a 3 or 5gph nozzle post intercooler for best performance. Will be running the progressive kit.

Any recommendations?

Also, anyone interested in a kit if i was to order more to save some on shipping?

Alex

Jason is one running it.

Alright Alex.

Still not ordered it!

I wouldnt run one pre turbo to tell the truth. It is the best for cooling, but it wears away the impeller of the turbo! Never good unless you love rebuilding them for a hobby.

Id go post intercooler and then run a second nozzle a bit further up towards the manifold.

Maby even in the Allard's ERG pipe (you have got one i seem to think).

5Gph is way too big. You want a 2 and a 3 for better distribution, and more effitiant cooling.

Dont do it pre intercooler, as the meths tends to rott the intercooler. And the water can condense in the bottom and you could end up hydrolic locking!

Dont get anything less than the progressave 'Stage 2'. Stage ones a crap compared.

Have a gander on youtube at people running W/I.

Theres a Scooby running it, and watet if just peeing out his exhaust! Gota watch.

I was going on what has been said on the Devilsown forum. They recommend those sizes one pre and one post, saying that with the attomisation, it is not a problem with the turbo. Did think 5 was probably a little large!

I would only go for the progressive kit anyway, not worth dmaging the engine over £100 really!

Im sure, Mr Devil himself recommends a 2 + 3.

Are you using W/I instead of a FMIC?

Dont forget, you want ALL your sensors to recognise the cooler air. So watch where your placing your jets.

Will be going in my project estate when its ready, so no rush at the moment, just looking into the cheapest place to get it from too. Will do some more research first and try to find out what jason thinks of his and what he recommends

Thats going to be one fast 'dog mover'. lol.

Dave

I just run a 3 GPH (225ml/min) nozzle post FMIC.

Yet to get methanol in there, but the kit is good. Mine is Snow Performance stage 2 though, not devils own (but much of a muchness I imagine)

hope to pick up mine from the post office over the next couple of days. Its a Devils own stage 2 and I hope that with water alone it'll offset the high ambients temps here.

Basil, you going to run pre and post turbo or just post turbo. Supposed to get best effect by running both?

Alex, try phoning either Devils Own, or a Turbo modifyer, and see if they can fit an impeller that wont get eaten away when your spraying it.

Best performance is pre turbo and pre inlet manifold (no intercooler, to save condencing).
