Skoda Symphony problem

Featured Replies

I recently bought a Skoda symphony CD unit off a friend who had upgraded to a CD head and multichanger.

It replaced the factory fitted cassette unit (202?) , i simply connected it up to the same sockets as the old cassette unit.

However I have a problem, the fader control does not fade the sound to the rear speakers, it reduced the volume to zero, only the fronts seem to work.

Is there a wiring change that I need to do?

The old cassette unit didn't have a fader control, is this something to do with it?

double cheack if theres anything at all comming from teh rear speakers..full stop...the new HU might not have a rear channel...it shoudl have tho bizzarre if it doesn't

so..it must be a wireing thing if it deffo has rear and front channels you only need two wires in a diffrent palce not to have any rear speakers...

where you from?

if your local to peterborugh i cna have a look for you..

sorry to steal the thread here, but is it easy to fit the CD head unit in place of a casset one as my mate is interested in buying mine when I get an mp3 head unit

usally not a problem...

multimeters are great tools if havent got one buy one or borrow and if have problems using a multimeter can help alot to track it down

I'll whip it out tonight and take a look at the wiring, I guess that since the old unit didnt have a fader, both speakers are connected to the same connector pin, should be easy to sort.
