Featured Replies

you may not believe me but im telling the truth, im asking this for a friend haha.

he drives a clio and has installed some neon tube lights on the underside of his car. yeah i know....

well basically hes trying to find a way of getting the wiring for the switch (will be put in dash) from the battery into the dash. there doesnt seem to be a hole to get the cable through?

to be honest im not exactly arsed with helpin him haha.

would there be a way of getting the cable from the engine bay into the cockpit without drilling a hole?

maybe through the wheel arch or something? god knows.

anyways cheers

dave

have a search for where the battery goes into the car and see if you can go in there, if not open the passenger door and look between there and the wing and see if there is any gap between the wing and main frame to slip a wire through there.

What year is the Clio?

i think its an 04. both your suggestions are really good. going to go round to his now and have a poke around.

just read that post again.... lol. the poking refers only to the car

Easy option would be to go down to halfords as they used to do a relay that came with a remote control so you could switch it on and off without needing to bring any wires into the car.

I do have a 3way RF solutions one with remote control i put on a friends show car to control the air ride system. As new (only used for a couple of shows) with all instructions and remote plus original bill for £81.31. Range of 200m as well. Ideal for this plus extra items as well make me an offer on it.

had the same problem in the other half cilo when fitting power wire for amp. There is a way in near the water bottle on the bulk head behind the black steel panel it hard to find ill try post a pic to help you when she gets in from work if it helps

We do, yes.

It's a Ring branded product, and there's a little more to it than your post suggests...

Although, er, not much. :o

...by the way.

If they're neons as opposed to LED tubes, they will require a relay. LED's do not.

;)

What I always used to do when running extra wires into the car was look for a grommet where an existing wiring loom connection went through, or a blanking plug for a penetration for kit that the model I was working on didn't have. The exact details vary from car to car though. You might also be able to go past the gear lever or the handbrake?

here is where i ran the amp wire in the other halfs clio there is a gromit there but i was in a rushso i havent run the wire though it. It is a 54 plate one so should be the same for your chavvy mate

there should also be a grommet behind where the dials are, thats always a good place to go through
