Switching fogs on.

Featured Replies

Hi,

I know this is a daft question but how exactly do i turn on the fog lights of my Mk1 Fabia SDi comfort?

I've got the switch on the right hand side with two fog light symbols. The switch will only lock at 3 points. Off, side lights and head lights. I've tried pushing the switch down before turning and i've tried with the engine running.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

pull it.

pull it out mate, once for the fronts, twice for the backs :D

+1 as above

Pull once for front fogs (can do this with sidelights on)

pull once more for the rear warning fog light (can only do this with dipped beam)

Thanks a lot! :o

Please do remember only to use them when it's foggy :)

:iagree:

and remember to switch them back off again

and remember to switch them back off again

If you don't you'll have a flat battery since turning the lights off resets the fog lamp switch.

HUH!!!? The times you actually need the rear fog you mostly don't want dipped beam.

I'm guessing a bit here - trying to remember what I discovered when an earlier thread discussed this stuff, I seem to remember that if you don't have front fogs you need side>dip beam on before you can switch on the rear fog (the switch limits the operation to this way of switching). But, if you have front fogs you need as minimum side>front fogs on before you can switch on the rear fogs. I have not tried the sides>front fogs without dipped beam> rear fogs to see if the rear fogs are still off until the dipped beam is switched on.

Try this again, presuming the car has front and rear fogs (if it doesn't have fronts, and you don't need dip to be seen, you certainly don't need rears).

There are times (mostly night-time fog or falling snow), when you need rear fogs, want front fogs, and don't want dipped heads.
