Parrot mini Kit

Featured Replies

Anyone any experience of Parrot Minikit bluetooth thingy? Have seen one on Carphone warehouse web for £35.96 deld which seems a good price. Is this a good product? I do not want a fitted kit and hate the BTooth earpiece I've got so this seems next best thing.

Anyone?!

I have only used the jabra, plug and play bluetooth devices and that worked well.

Google maybe your friend for reviews.

I cant be specific about any of these plug and play kits but after reading a few things about them in general they can be very car dependant, ie the location of the 12v socket will affect the speaker volume and mic pic up.

Also, as the speaker and mic are next to each other that can cause problems, although not major arnt there on a normal installed kit.

Parrot are known for making good kits, get a lot of good reviews from many places. Have a look on autoexpress web site, they have reviewed a few of these type of kits.

When buying, ask the carphone warehouse if you can get a refund if its not very good, Im not sure that they should but with a bit of persuasion I have had them refund this type of thing before.

They need a quiet car to work in as well.

Thanks Steve.

As the purchase is online I can return it within 7 days having tried it. Even better it can be returned to a local store for a refund rather than post it back even when bought online. Price was considerably cheaper than elsewhere and if bought at Carphone warehouse store was £49 instead of £35.96 online which they would not match.

Can I ask why you dont want a fully fitted kit?

I have the OEM in my Octy vRS from stu and is brilliant but it did take several hours of fitting.

But I have just installed a THB-Bury CC9060 (about £120) into my Freelander van and it took about 2 hours.

Sound quality is brilliant, no wires chopped (used an ISO SOT lead) and can be moved quite easily to another vehicle when required.

THB also do a plug and play one like the parrot, think its the 9040, same graphical display, voice activated, reads out text messages, voice dialling etc..... quite expensive but again, looks the dogs dangly bits.

I've got a Minikit.

Havnt had a chance to use it yet but it seems a decent bit of kit for the money

Don't want a fitted kit as my car for work is old and could be replaced at any time, also may want it in the MX5 or sometimes use a hire car if working away from home and have flown or got the train to south of england.

Got mine up and running.

Nifty little unit.

You sync it with the contacts on your phone, and then you record your voice tags, so when you want to call someone you just press the green button say the name and it calls.

Although the speaker is only 2watts speech is loud and pretty clear. People on the other end have told me they can hear me perfectly. Clips neatly onto the sunvisor.

Good buy for those who dont want to mess about behind the dash.

thanks. Ordered from Carfone warehouse and came within 2 days. Finding set up a bit fiddly. Voice tag keeps calling my boss (roddy) when I say Dumfries which is tag for my office which is a bit of a pain. Will try to re set voice tags.
