Cheapest and easiest way to sell a car

Featured Replies

Hi. I've just bought a Fabia vRS and now need to sell my other car to get some money back. What is the easiest way to sell it. Local paper charges £55 for 5 nights, don't know about Autotrader or eBay as I've never used them before. Was just thinking of sticking a "For Sale" sign in the window but is that illegal now?

Thanks in advance for any help I get

Pay £12 to join Freedom and advertise it on this forum.

I've sold quite a few by sticking them on the nearest busy road with a big sign in the window. If it's priced to sell, it'll go quickly. My mate took this advice and sold his 1995 Saab, with over 100,000 miles on the clock within 1 hour a few weeks ago. In fact, before we got back to work after putting the sign in, someone had phoned up - that was ten minutes. It had gone within the hour. He sold it for a few quid less than he wanted, but at least he got rid.:D

Mind you, this was the main road into Scarborough and gets loads of slow moving traffic, giving people time to see it.

Irrespective of any excusses, if this goes anywhere near a for sale thread it will get deleted.

Autotrader is normally a good bet and as Gerry says £12 for a years membership here is good value.

Stick a sign in the window, as said above, i sold a car like this within 24 hours :)

I know that. I'm going to sell it properly and not take the pi55 on here.

Glad to hear it. You would not believe what the low life on here will do to save £12.
