I've had my VRS 6 months now ('54 / 50k), I love it to bits but there's a few things that are begining to annoy me;

I find it very uncomfortable to drive around town - really bumpy, could this be the tyre profile (standard) or a suspension issue? There is also quite a severe pull to the left.

I am concerned about the amount of smoke coming from the back when accelerating / I think fuel economy could be better too...

Aircon doesn't blow cold

I would also like to do a few mods but don't want to spend a fortune on a 7 grand car, any suggestions on things i could do that would make a difference without going over the top?

Smoking is quite normal when excellerating, and can be useful...hehe.

Town driving is always going to lower your mpg.

I really dont understand people that buy a diesel then moan about the black smoke...

If you dont like it then why buy a diesel?

Stick some Millers Diesel Sport 4 in it along with your fuel, also maybe look at a pd160 intake to cut down on the fumes too. personally i love my in built smoke screen

Read a post on here recently where someone modified their air box and eliminated the black smoke syndrome.

For some reason my Vrs smokes more now with a pd160?

an air filter replacement will help with the smoke screen. It's amazing how dirty they are even after a few thousand miles.

Mine is crashy on bad roads. I beleive the dampers are not great. plus the roads don't help.

I have found that on my new way to work that I hit less traffc,the route is longer but my mpg has gone from 46.mpg to 62mpg! so I now get 530 miles to a tank instead of 400!

Get ur windows tinted. Can't see the smoke anymore

An italian tune up also does the power of good.

Standard suspension is not great but Eibachs and FSD's are mucho pounds. Cheaper alternatives do seem to be almost as good though. KW seem to be a firm favourite
