Hi Everyone,

The interior light switch on my Fabia vRS was very loose, so I called into a breakers and picked up a whole new unit for a couple of quid, took mine out of the roof panel and it seems that the spring had come off the back of the switch (The small bit that you slide to turn it off/open with door or have it permanantly on).

I could'nt find the spring so used one out of the one I got from the scrappy as my panel was a darker grey, nothing worked, so then found the original spring tried it and it worked twice and has'nt worked since, I have swopped the springs over from each one and nothing seems to work, the symptons are....

Switch in "0" position...light off (as should be)

Switch in "Door position"...light on including reading lights and nothing will go off with the activation of the doors or locks, not even the reading lights when you try them seperately.

Switch in "on" position...everything on (as should be)

PS I also got a unit from the scrappy from an A3 which I have connected straight in without touching anything and this also will not switch off.

Anyone any ideas ???

with the switch in "lights on,door open" position , now turn the ignition on , do the lights now turn off ?

Thanks for response...tried that but no different, I wonder if it could be a faulty plug that comes from the loom in the car ?

Also...do all doors trigger the light or just drivers and would it need to synchronized in any way?

Don't think this should make any difference but I have been doing the job with the passenger door open and the ignition off
