mapped or not

Featured Replies

not sure if my car has been mapped, brought via small dealer who didnt know if it had any mods. the timings ive done seem a little quicker than standard so wondering if its possibly been mapped already

0-60 8.2 secs

40-70 in 4th gear 5.1 secs

although these were on stopwatch held by passenger but should be somewhere near

or do i just have one of the good uns in standard form???

any advice would be appreciated

cheers

at what rpm do you need to change gear before it runs out of puff?

between 4 and 4 1/2

That will be red line then! lol.

I would write to the last owner and ask if it has been modded in any way, it might surprise you but the last owner of my car was a little old women from the borders and the car we think had been mapped by the dealers before she bought it.

red lines at about 4 3/4 loss of power just over 4 so no where near red line???

The are similar times to what i got when testing mine, and im pretty sure mines standard. I spose if im really giving it some, theres not much point in going past 4k. Mines got the ASZ engine, what about yours?

8.2 seconds is feasable from a standard car :)

Agreed 0-60 isnt really going to tell you much its more so 0-100 where you'll notice the difference, or 30-100. Private road obviously

take it to a local tuners with a dyno, that will give you a good indication, or ask a local remapping place nicely if they could read the file data, that will give you the details of the map and often tell you who wrote it and when.

cheers for the replys, i think ill pop it down to my local skoda garage as they are a revo dealer and ask if they will check for me, and the engine is asz so its seems they are quite strong as standard
