missing rear camera with the nav

Featured Replies

Hello

At last I have orded a new superb elegance 160 hp fuel, black metallic with Ivory leather,

It stod between a 170 diesel or the 160 fuel eng. Orded also the full option pack with everything except the cd changer. And now I have to wait 12 weeks (uuuh).

The only thing I was frustrated over is that I can’t get a rear camera with the nav. as and option. When I was testing the new Passat CC this nav had this as an option , and for me it looks like the same system.

Is there anyone who knows if this option will come later and if it is possible to make an upgrade later, have asked different Skoda shops her in Norway and I get different answer, it does not look like they know? As I have seen from the manual it is an A/V input back in the unit do I have the possibility to mount a camera here

Hope some can give me some info about this.

NB. As you all can see i am not from England, live in Norway 100 km south from Oslo in a small city Tons berg, so excuse my writing.

Best regards

Nils

I dont know TBH, but I would like that option to be available when we order our Superb ( March, April or May 09 :o )

There is an ongoing discussion about this on the vwnavi.com forum. It's not specific to the Superb, but discusses retrofitting the reversing camera on a number of car with RNS510/Columbus units.

In theory, you ought to be able to buy the parts for the Passat and wire them up in the Superb. Kufatec will sell you the kit here:

KUFATEC GmbH - Komplett-Set Rückfahrkamera VW Passat 3C Variant 35712

I'm not sure why Skoda don't offer this themselves, but I don't think there is any reason why they couldn't.

Bagpuss.

bloody hell - thats expensive !!
