Featured Replies

got in my car ( 05 vrs just over 3 years old) wound passenger window down and now its refusing to go back up, gets about a third of the way and dies. if i call out AA wil they fix it? and will this be covered by any sort of warranty as the dealer 3 year is already up.

all info much appreciated

get someone to push the button while you also grab the window and placing one palm on the outside and one on the inside and help pull it up.

tried it and the safety feature things kicks in and pulls it back down

hmmm then i've no idea

isnt there a manual way of winding it up without the power?

like the sunroof has?

I guess you'd need to see the manual, or drive it to skoda and see if they can sort it out pronto?

only other option is to get a black bag, and cover your door for now until the morning, or borrow a friends garage. :(

I thought the safty thing only worked a few times then went to normal mode untill you lock and unlock you car?

so did i but seems not, tried it a good 10 to 15 times, with the probs ive had with this car it wouldnt suprise me if its knacked. ive taped it up with a black bag but ill have a good 15 miles motorway journey to get home, couldnt come at a worse time either, im skint and im sure new motor, winders, arms etc wont be cheap

I had a similar problem on my Audi A6. I got a can of window guide lubricant from Halfords and sprayed that down each side of the window channels. I needed to assist the window up, as has already been suggested, a few times and now it works a treat. Only trouble is I sprayed it quite liberally and it's made the glass quite smeary! Still, only costs a few quid so worth a try - cheaper than a new motor

With JulieD. Lots of lubricant down sides. Also try pushing the window down by putting pressure on top of glass; if it has been sticking for a while it may have become a little out of line in the carriers and may push straight.

Best of luck.

If it's not already too late, pull the relevant fuse (listed in the manual) and replace it after a few seconds. This should reset the relevant module in the convenience unit, which may be all that's playing up...

It could be the window regulator jamming, had a similar problem with the wife's Furby. When the window did move did it sound OK mechanically?

Wouldn't be suprised if your window mechanism is knackered! part is about £72 from main dealer!

Sometimes when it is the control unit is at fault the one touch will stop working on the drivers side.
