Hi i am a new owner of a Fabia on a 52 plate. ( out of 3 month warrenty)

The power steering light came on and went off a week ago, it now comes on more reguarly and sometimes stays on.

Last night while i was driving the light came on and just as i was turning right i lost all power steering. I have checked this site before so i turned the engine off waited and when i restarted the ps was back on.

This has happened again today and i am now getting a bit worried, i have taken it to a local non Skoda garage and he thinks it may be electrical- altenator or something else. To be honest i am worried about being ripped off by garages although the one today seemed genuine. I'm still waiting for the Skoda garage to ring me back.

Any advice. Please would be welcomed.

Get the steering angle sensor checked, quiet a common problem on the Fabia.

check the fluid levels also my car drinks it!
