Halfords brilliance bulbs - 2 for 1 back on

Featured Replies

Title says it all really. Been down to Halfords this morning and found the 2 for 1 on Halfords Super and Extreme Brilliance Bulbs is on again.

I find these just as bright as the Osram Night Breakers and are better value (when the 2 for 1 is on).

How much are they?

A Pair of H4 Extreme Brilliance (+90%) are £18.99. That's only £9.50 each!

How close are these to Philips Extremes?

Might be worth a punt

The ultra brilliance are similar to the extremes, although I really don't find the halfords bulbs last very well.

To be fair the Osram nightbreakers are £19.99 for a pair H7 17.99 for a pair H4 from my local friendly motor factor, so I tend to like those.

thought Halford were a complete ri-off for bulbs, went for a dipped beam bulb, they sold them in pack of two for £18, went to a local motor-factors and got one for £3.20, bit of a difference??

I certainly wouldn't pay £18.99 for one!!!! That would be a rip-off.

Whilst Halfords is far from perfect, they are convenient. Last time I ordered bulbs mail-order I got DOAs (how do Royal Snail manage this).

I've found that they last as well as the Philips, which in my limited experience is slightly longer that the Osrams.

That said, I think Extremes are better than nightbreakers, I had extremes in the octy and have nightbreakers in the Roomster, the nightbreakers have really gone "off the boil" quiet quickly being imho no better than standard bulbs. In fact the kung foo panda which has not got projector lenses and is running whatever Fiat put in them has a much better set of lights. I am thinking about other options for the roomster, maybe another set of Philips Extremes?

Anyone else noticed this with NightBreakers?
