what does it do???

Is it safe to drive????

Is it eaisy to fit?

It a crankcase breather, mine went crusty and cracked too. Can a cause jerky ride when accelerating on part throttle.

Piece of cake to fit, as Phil says it will need new jubilee clips if yours still has the Skoda "one time use" clips.

As that pipe has gone there is a good chance the one under the intake manifold has gone the same way and may cause running problems.

Good point Des its worth a check as they appear to join together.

Just here next to the dipstick and under the inlet manifold, the one on the right went on mine.

Can I join the club? Mine's just gone- so is it a peach or a lemon to fit? Only I'll either order it or get the garage to order and fit.. :wonder:

My Hose

Do it yourself. All part of the beauty of being a mk1 owner.

I think it depends on your hand size. Big hands make it very akward. I know it sounds like a palvour, but if you remove the battery I think you would get really good access to the lower end of it.

I have to say, the worst bit of the job for me is VW's one way clips! What a bloody pain the arse they are to leaver off!

creation motorsport have silicone versions for less than the VAG rubber items - makes sense to upgrade!

Yeah worth doing as they tend to go at the same time, the other problem pipe is under the manifold by the dipstick, that one is the pig to change

do all the breather pipes, once done you should never need to do them again - just check the links on creation motorsport website to track them all down

I had the same burst hoses replaced them both , just fixed the secondary air pump today and low and behold i here an air leek , ffs i though , had a look about and it is the other pipe in question come from the bottom of the inlet into the t adaptor .

Does anyone no the part number for this please ?
