fabia clutch problems

hi

just after a bit of advice regarding my mothers 51 reg fabia 1.4, she couldn't get it into gear on the way back from work today so i had to go and drive it back, if you put it into 1st then start the engine you can move it into any gear as normal but as soon as you let out the clutch and reapply it won't go into any gear without forcing it and then it feels as though the clutch is dragging, the clutch pedal itself feels normal, biting point just above halfway. Any advice would be appreciated
