Oh hell!

Featured Replies

Well, i've noticed a dull "thump" coming from my car when i turn the ignition off. On further inspection, it seems to be the EGR valve

Does this mean its pretty much goosed?????

Not too fussed if it is, excuse to get the by-pass pipe lol

Cheers guys

Could be it's sticking. It's fairly easy to take off and clean - if somewhat filthy to do. You could do the elephant's trunk mod at the same time. Mine was full of horrible oily soot which covered the exhaust inlet valve and looked as though it would stop it moving properly. The back bolt is a bit of a pig to tighten, but the seal is a rubber ring inset, so you can tighten up to the last half turn then twist the unit into position before tightening all three. The difference in performance is noticeable as is the smoothness.
