ABS + TC Light On - Wheel speed sensor

Featured Replies

Hi

My ABS light and traction control light are staying illuminated, The fault code is front right wheel speed sensor - anyone know the best place to buy a replacement and are they hard to fit?

Many thanks :)

Trev.

Edit - Mk1 Octavia vRS

I would think dealer....No idea on fitting though sorry.

Eurocarparts do a cheap one and also a OE replacment.

Very easy to fit but getting the old one out sometimes can be a nightmare as the get rusted in so a bit of force is needed

I'm having a similar problem. Yesterday my Traction Control/ESP light came on whilst sitting in traffic. I took it to the garage and had a diagnostic which showed up an intermittent fault on the Steering Angle Sensor. The sensor was still registering and working on the software when turning the wheel and we cleared the code. About two minutes after starting the car back up the light came back on. I then drove the car for a while and whilst parked in traffic the ABS light and passenger air bag light began to flicker in tandem along with a slightly later flickering parking light. This now seems to happen often. The car feels totally fine and has been serviced very recently. Does anyone have any ideas? Really need some help ont this one as even the mechanic was stumpped! Does anyone know any london or kent based auto electricians?

Manente, get the codes read again, and post what they are.

Manente, I would say you have a dodgy connection on the slip ring between the steering wheel and steering column.

That looks possible, and a load of mixed fault codes that confuse everyone would almost confirm it!

Had exact same fault as me.

Got a sensor from Trade Part Specialists.

Genuine part iirc about £20.
