Can someone tell me if a Mk 4 Golf TDi gearbox is a straight swap for mine?

The box I am looking at is the 02A style with black end cap. I'm guessing the ratios may be slightly different though across the range??

Trying to find a suitable box is a mare!!!

Does it have the same gearbox code? If so then yes. If not then maybe, but we'll need both box codes.

Like Ken says. Looking under the bonnet at all the bits, you can't tell if you are under a golf or octavia. However, both came with several drivetrain options. So if you know what you have and the golf looks identical, yes it will work. As Ken says see if you can get the codes. Bora, Leon, Toledo will also give you similar results.
