FOA Baker21 / PowerCraft Owners

Featured Replies

I've just got a pressure washer from Aldi for a good price, but while it's obviously a karcher the guns attachement hole is different.

It's got a slightly larger diameter hole and slimmer lugs. Did yours have the same and if so what have you done to get use of a snow foam lance.

Thanks.

I have used the Karcher hose and lance that I had from my recently deceased Karcher.

There is a chemical container on the PowerCraft which works perfectly for foaming for me.

I'm sure Baker will be along in a minute, but I do know he modified the (Elite) lance to fit the PowerCraft gun as opposed to use a Karcher hose & gun on his PowerCraft, if you know what I mean.

IMHO 99% of pressure washers use the same pitch/diameter output on the machine, so your existing Karcher one should just screw on. I've used this sucessfully on both Powerbase and Halfords pressure washers, until my Karcher gun died with my last machine.

Lol, yeah, I suppose a little like that... :o

For the foam, I use a high pressure foam lance, with autofoam, so that is an essential.

I do have a spare brass connector, so I am slightly tempted to get it milled out to fit the powercraft connectors.

My dirtblaster and vario lances are only rated to 120Bar although they have the same numbers on them as the Powercraft ones except for the PC ones being 150bar.

All rather random.

The PC one is rated at 150 max and 120 nominal, I use the Vario on mine.

Which karcher did you have Stu and are your lances 120 rated then?

Thanks

I had a KB4040 or something.

I seem to recall Baker telling me he only had to file the corners off his Karcher fit Elite lance to make it fit the PC's gun.

Sorry guys but some of us have some detailing to do during the day............:D

Bluefox has pretty much answered the question really, you can get replacement brass connectors or use a Karcher lance but I just filed my foam lance to fit the Powercraft lance and jobs a good 'un............

One thing that puzzles me though, do you guys use your foam lance every time you wash your car?

  • Author

I use my foam lance pretty much every time.

Since I'm pushed for time the car will get a proper job a few times a year, a good wash once or twice a months and a touchless wash with BH autofoam when it needs it and I'm short on time.

Do you use concentrated snow foam then or dilute it down?

Hi Cheeze,

You should be able to get the Karcher (K1,2,3 etc) gun off Ebay for under £10 and the hose fits ok and you can use all your Karcher accessories. That is what i have done and no issues.

I've got a gun that is 160PSi rated so that is ok, I just need to work out if my current lance tools (120PSI rated) will go pop and if so if I should get a new one.

The ones I have are from a K2.

I put about an inch or two of the Autofoam in the HD snow Lance and then fill the rest with water.

Then I just set the gun adjuster correctly and foam the car, walk away and leave it for about 10 minutes then come and wash it off.

The BH foam is the only one I've found that offers the sort of cleaning I'm after although I think somebody found another one on DW.

Hi

I bought a powercraft p/w from aldi the nice people let me open the box and try first.

What i came up with was use all the new powercraft p/w stuff but i took the old head off my karcher and fitted it to the new hose so my foam lance now fits,

Whilst i was messing about i found that the smaller powercraft p/w lance lugs fits into the karcher head no problems and works.

Properjob

regards Whoosh:thumbup:

I couldn't seem to get the Powercraft tools to fit into my karcher.

Interesting... Baker, you think the Snow Foam when watered down would do this "touchless" clean?

Really don't think there is anything that is a 'touchless' clean?

I mean stop being lazy and put your back into it........:D

The BH autofoam is great for the weekly quick wash.

Foam it leave it 10, and then wash it off and go.

Perfect for things like taxis or people who need to clean a car but can't be doing with it or have a bad back etc.

It won't get a really filthy car spotless but it will get a car covered in a week or two of road dust and flies clean.

...or children!

Gabby's obsessed with helping me, which is fine... except she uses a sponge!

OMG!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like you need to discover autofoam.

One bottle for you with the pressure washer and one small bottle with a bubble blower for the young children.

You've put Autofoam in a bubble blower...?

To be fair i just put any car shampoo I had in one, but once you've found a car safe one that foams you're onto a safe bet with the children stopping with the sponge i'd think.

Interesting... interesting indeed.

I'll take some pics and let you know how it goes :P
