Changing cars

Featured Replies

I am thinking about changing my Superb for an Octavia VRS diesel, does anybody know if they are fitted with a DPF? is there anything else i should be considering before i change, i currently have a 2.0 TDI PD 140 Exclusive 2006 with 15000 miles on the clock

All VRS diesels have a DPF fitted. Are you planning on buying a new one or a second hand one? If new then it will have the new CR engine which is supposed to be smoother, more refined and better fuel economy. Before changing have a good drive in one as I would suspect the driving experience will be a lot different compared to the Superb. The rear legroom will be significantly less than you Superb too.

Hmm. Is this company car or private purchase?

Reason I ask is to do with trade-in on your Superb, they'll probably offer you 50p and a ham sandwich (cheese extra)...

Clearly though if this is a company purchase it may not matter!

Exclusive? do you mean Elegance?

must be loosing 50p a second the way the dealers were quoting me for a new superb...i agree that the octavia vrs is a nice car.....but the room inside is cramped compared to the superb.....and torque and top end flat out is only a few mille an hr less depending on what superb u have lol..........hang on to it

Having made the change from superb to octavia, all I can say is think long and hard about it. There is nowhere near as much comfort in the octavia's suspension I've found, and I have the elegance and not even the vRS. Space in front and back is substantially less. The main thing I noticed was the size of doors which made entry and exit a little less easy, but then it does make it better in car parks. I am 6'3 though so you might not have that problem. We needed an estate for the dog, and to make carrying bikes easier. Had the added benefit of 25% better mpg which has kept my fuel prices steady.

Your right, i got a bit carried away, it is an Elegance, after some of the comments i am not sure if i should change, i realy would like more power, 170 BHP sounds good to me, it should leave my Superb for dust.

i did think about that, there are a lot of gadgets on E Bay to re map the engine, are they any good? i did have my Octavia super chipped and was not over impressed with the change.

try some of the sponsors of this site. i wouldn't think a plastic box off ebay would do anything

The only "box" that's any good IMHO is the Dragon Digital. Those eBay resistor things are, er, useless.

There's no other way of putting it! ;)
