crashed

Having just logged on and seeing devonutopias thread about his accident, I'll have to share my story about this post that came out of no-where and I couldn't avoid it:rolleyes:.

Crashed my car swatting a fly on holiday in county cork on friday. Luckily I wasn't going very fast, only my car was involved and no-body was hurt. Also luckily, I managed to avoid hitting most non-essential components, although I bent the steering rod, lost the screen wash bottle and power steering. And finally, I was lucky in that I managed to drive it to a mechanic a few miles away (costing me a nearly new tire in the process) who managed to pull away any rubbing from the tire, straightenish out a bent steering pin, and adjust the tracking all for free!!

Even though I couldn't have crashed anywhere farther away from where I live in ireland - I live in portstewart on the northcoast, and crashed about four miles away from irelands most southerly point(just outside goleen), I'm stunned by my good luck, plus I managed to drive all the way up yesterday with no problems.

I can confirm tho that without power steering, the steering is way stiffer that any naturally non-assisted car I've ever drove.

Not bad for someone 390+ miles from home. The arms got a good work-out on the return trip I take it. Are you entering next year's Mr. Universe?

Looks a dull one.

Hope it gets fixed up soon.

Did you kill the fly?

haha! The open road was grand, but some of those wee roads round west cork are hard enough even with power steering!
