interior light

Featured Replies

Been having a problem with the interior light in my superb. No blowen fuses no blowen bulbs but still no front interior lights

Any help on what to check next would be greatly appreciated or anybody with a simillar experiance?

That could be water ingress into the convenience unit, any wet patches on the passenger side of the floor? lift up the mats and the carpet to check too

Agreed, well discussed.

Easiest way of checking is lifting the carpets IMHO.

Welcome to the forum :)

Sounds very much like that to me! Better check that Pollen filter!

Thanks for the replys....just ran out and checked the carpets and all is well, bone dry.

Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated as this is doing my head in.

if it helps the front interior lights don't come on at all when you open with the remote or open door or press the switches but i do have the 2 red led lights.

whats the story with the carpets getting wet i take it it's a common fault with the superb? Reason i ask is that i have 2 superbs (taxi's) and they have been nearly faultless since i have owned them.Only the one that threw the clutch gear on the altenator which in turn resulted in a strip down and all new belts fitted at 70,000 miles (touch wood)

Have you looked at the obvious, nobody has turned them off with the switch have they? :o

Yes it's a very common fault with the the two rubber grommets under the battery & servo getting bunged up, the rain water then builds up and leaks through the pollen filter housing into the car, the water runs down under the passenger seat wrecking the convenience unit that is located under the carpet, do a search it's been covered many times before on here.

Try searching this section of the forum for water ingress. :)

Try the earth wire. 9 times out of 10 it seems to be that.

Hm! I've just realised you said your carpets were dry... oops!

Still, useful to check as it's possible that it's been wet in the past and corroded something (such as the earth mentioned above).

Have you solved it? Let me know please 'cos I've got the same problem.

Thanks

Just to let you know, I took it to the dealer and it did turn out to be the pollen filter problem. They fixed it under warranty. I had felt the rear footwell and it was bone dry on top - obviously not underneath!
