As title.............

If i have took the car for a good fast drive...... and i come to a standstill, sometimes the revs start to drop from 1000rpm don to about 200rpm.....then back up......then it will drop and cut out..

Any ideas peeps????

thinking aloud Mark, have you checked in the throttlebody to see if it needs a clean?

Throttle body clean, idle stabilistion fault, overrun fuel cutout fault.

Get the codes read.

How is the best way to clean the throttle body and what with?

Is it just a case of taking the hose off the end?

There was a good thread on VWvortex about this, complete with pictures - ignore most of the plumbing instructions, they don't apply here. Might be worth picking up a bottle of Isopropyl alcohol from your chemist and using that sparingly.
