Best time to buy?

Featured Replies

I will be in the market to buy a new Superb soon with an Octavia estate as part exchange. With all of the money markets in a state of flux and some garages in "interesting times" with their lack of sales I want to know when to get he best deal for me.

Will it be best just to go for it now, wait till middle of winter or near to new registration in the spring? Part exchange values of Octavia will no doubt be tight but if garages want the trade then I will want a good deal which includes a discount

Any advice gratefully received.

January always seems a good month to buy a car, everyones skint after christmas, but as you are after a new car rather than a used car then the lead times on new cars may well change that.

20th onwards is best time. ;)

Aye nobody has any money and nobody buys and cars between christmas and new year, but the quarter ends on the 31st, so if somebody is close to a target they might well give you a very good price.

I think you'll get a good price from anyone right about now...

hes not just saying that cos hes a salesman either !!! i got a good price from james on my new superb and got good service as well...give him a call you will be surprised !!

He's definitely helpful.........I popped in today for a quick sit in a Superb. He's one of the most helpful dealers I've come across and believe me I've dealt with a lot! Will be going back soon for an extended test drive. However won't be buying until the Estate comes out!
