Door seals/ Windows steamy/ bad smell

Hello all ! Im new to the site and was compelled to leave this ditty due to the above issues. I found this web site whilst trying to come up with a reason why I have these issues on my Fabia 55 plate 1.2 . As I type this my car is at the startin skoda garage in powick, my warranty expired on the 1st Oct and only just managed to get it in today ( 7th oct) through my own fault. I bought the car in June and Im happy with it up until the rain started. Im being charged £170 for getting both back doors resealed.

I have read many threads on these issues but im perplexed:-

1. Why do we as customers have to pay for an inherent design flaw?

2. Garages are aware of the problem but continue to profit from them?

3. If you purchase a product should it be " fit for purpose" as part of the

selling act?

4. Have/will Skoda accept liability for the above?

5. Has anybody gone through citizens advise on how to resolve this?

6. Or is everyone paying the price for a designer who should work for Ikea?

I think Skoda cars are generally good but im unsure If my next car will be one.

if you warrenty expired that recent.... maybe ask for gesture of goodwill or ask to go halves as its a inherent problem with lots and lots of fabias,

You're being t-bagged mate.

My local skoda dealer charged me £27.50 per door... they only did one though lol Mines a 53 so out of warranty. I sealed the rest myself, for the cost of about £5 and 2 hours of my time.

Your are been over charged, My Skoda dealer asked £90 for both rear doors, Even at that I thought it was over priced, So tackled it myself with the good advice found on here, for me the hardest bit was removing the door winders, but its well explained on here somewhere, Have to agree with you It is a bad design fault and should be done for free,

STARTINS!!!

IF YOU ARE READING - - I will not be bringing my car in for its service in December!!!! I will go somewhere else.

Serves you right you robbing Ba****ds!!!

In addition to my previous post-

I went back to the garage to pay and indeed was charged £170 inc labour for the two door seals. I telephoned Skoda customer service twice. The first man to answer was very abrupt and dismissive regarding my questioning and so I re-rang and spoke to a nice chap who understood my situation but could do nothing to help my bill, he said " all dealers in the skoda network are franchised and so charge their own rates for works done" I asked him if £170 was about right for the job and he did say that it was correct!

I bought my Fabia in June for £3800 with 25k on the clock so felt i had a good deal.... However if you are buying a Fabia mark 1 check all footwells and any dodgy smells or in my case an airfreshner to disguise the problem. I had a new 58 plate Fabia as a car whilst mine was being serviced and Im not a big fan.

Denseddog I can only sympathies I have been through it! only bought mine for my wife in September £3200 34 k on the clock, the only thing on the car I did not check when buying was for damp foot wells, If I had of and found damp, I would never have bought, But luckily I was able to fix myself, with the good advice on this site, I have had a lot of niggle problems with this car in the short time I have owned it, central locking, door buttons sticking down, inter light not working etc. By now I should be hating this car, but there something about it I still like
