Exhaust Time...... Please don't shout at me.

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I know this has been discussed many times but my question is diffrent. I have put it down to either the Blueflame or the Milltec. But what are people "life time" views.

How long do the systems hold up with a modified car?

Only reason I ask is because my friend with a blueflame had an uprated dogmount, 3 weeks later his Blueflame exhause had falled off from the mount onto the turbo, the welds gave up. When he tried to contact blueflame they didn't want to know and said it was because of his mount.

Anyone had any problems with the fabia?

Thanks All

I purchased the Miltek turbo back plus sports cat over 18 months ago for a grand price of £270 in all:D It is trouble free and any exhaust should be which is stainless steel.

I would guess that there was a problem with the welding on the blueflame your mate had. As it should not do that even with the uprated dogbone mount fitted.

Sweet! Get me one dude for that price!

I had my system custom made by Pro speed in cardiff £300 including decat pipe, smaller sports backbox to avoid booming on the motorway, and 6x4 oval tip.

Life time guarantee with an oulet in easy reach.

:rofl::rofl: Won't warrenty their modification if the car is modified  Think you have answered your own question :)

I have been trying to figure this out too phill hard desicion

Should have picked up a Magnex as they were going cheapy cheap :)

ive had a miltek decat fitted for almost a year now and i have not had any problems at all

it fits the car realy well and the welds look to be to a very high standard

when i ordered it i was advised not to get the sports cat as the center fell out of the cat  so i went for the cheaper decat pipe

it was suplied and fitted by star performance

I know - bargains were available, best looking too but its all personal preference

Milltek twin exit doesnt suit at all IMO

wheres the best place to go for a milltek, might put it on a christmas list.

Personally I favour Powerflow, but that might just be because I trust my local dealer.

As for the Milltek vs Blueflame question, my money's on Milltek - and not withstanding the comment above about the Blueflame warranty, Milltek have been big in Vx circles for many years...

...and sadly, so was I :o

I am with you on this one, I think the twin round exits don't look quite right. this was the main reason I chose blueflame over Milltek. I just love the oval exit.

I actually have purchased the sports cat section but I got it second hand (covered around 1000 miles) from a friend (trusted history) for the same price as the de-cat pipe. I am of the opinion that if it is on there in the first palce you should have one really. But I have not always stuck with this line of thinking otherwise I would have never modded anything...

So is the original thread meaning that after having the Dogbone mount changed out the exhaust snapped or was it before having it changed. I could understand the smallest possibility of the exhaust being stressed by the engine turning with the original dogbone mount, but with a stiffened one it should be ok...

well time will tell I think.

I am sure the warranties on all the items are as good as the paper they are written on. These days most thinks are covered for danagees and failures as long as they are not fitted to anything or used in any way. so I am always looking at the fact that I am going to be told NO and if there ever comes a YES from a manufacturer I am happy.

just need to get my exhaust fitted now and then change a couple of other things too...
