Please can someone advise me what size too/socket/key i would need to get the plug out of the gearbox where you fill it up with gearbox oil ?

Also where is the best place to buy one ?

Erm, but isn't that... not a 17AF?

On my car the drain plug is M16 6 spline tamperproof as in the link. The level plug is a 17 mm AF hex socket which needs a hex key to remove it.

If you just want to check the level the 17 mm AF is the tool for you....
