Power Loss

Featured Replies

Ive posted a help topic on the TechQuestion page. But no answer so far.

As its to do with / or might be a possible VagCom solution maybe

someone here can help.

My FabVrs was fitted with a Revo at 4000 miles then gave 170 bhp. Happy

with that.. Now at 14000 miles is only giving 148 bhp..

Am told could be a simple boost pressure loss, or something similar.

Question is .. Would a check via VagCom identify the problem..

Its due for its annual service soon and could be fixed via warranty if

I know what the problem is

Any help appreciated....

You may well have a fault code logged in the ecu so you would need vag-com to check. You could also run boost logs to compare requested vs actual boost but you would need to register vag-com first.

Where did you get the figures from?

Did the car "feel" any different or did you simply realise it was down on power after a RR day?

The power loss has been noticed over last few thousand miles. But evident when going against a pal with his Golf as he has been pulling away on mid range and overtaking.. So had opportunity couple week ago to put on rolling road, and that confirmed loss. But bit upset about the amount of loss. Would mention that on occasion a smell of diesel exhaust inside , but after under car inspection no sign of excape from the entire system..

could it possibly be a slight boost leak? the oem piping is terrible and clips come loose causing loss of boost - this is made wrose by a remap due to the extra couple of PSI

any extra smoke out the back?

Thats a point ..smoke...Appears very little of the black stuff.

At one point earlier when the remap was new the smoke that followed

me was a bit embarassing like one of the old steam trains, only black and not white smoke..

Hardly see any now even with my size 10 boot firmly planted..

Had a couple of PM's now that make sense.

Will wait for the service, see what they find.

Then act as required..

Thanks for advice..

Jake.
