"OIL" Warning spanner

Featured Replies

Hi,

After a little advice about my VRS. The OIL warning spanner has come on this morning, now I am unsure whether I actually need oil or not as I have not checked yet. The reason I say this is because it was serviced a few months ago and the garage forgot to reset the service intervals. Now I have heard that there are two intervals, one oil and one insp, is this correct? If so it looks like I have only reset the insp one and not the oil one. How are these reset properly?

Also, if it is just becuase I need oil. What oil do I need?

Thanks

I had this problem when the INSP light came on, I managed to get one of the Briskodians on here to help me reset this, then a bout a month or two later the spanner came on, if you say your car has been serviced within the last few months then I would just follow the hand book and reset this.

Its got the spanner on with OIL flashing. Will go and check levels now

Read handbook for resetting (page 16, I think). Straight froward and takes only a few minutes.

Don't just reset it as then you will do 10k on part dirty oil.

Go back to the garage that did the service and get them to set it to the correct number taking into account the miles done or give you an oil change FOC as they fecked up.

Its only a service indication, hold down the trip reset knob at the same time turn on the ignition, 10 secs later the spanner symbol will disappear.

Hope this helps
