Engine light and new tyres

Featured Replies

I got 4 new tyres (Bridgestones) put on my car the other day and within 1/2 mile of the fitters the was a couple of bangs. Got out and looked around, couldn't see anything, so carried on. I was driving slowly because of my engine light being on (split hose under inlet manifold) and having new tyres. Then the hose was fixed (admitted bodge by the garage - just joined the 2 bits together with jubilees and metal tube), the car runs better than it has for a while but at about 80 (on my private test track) it shakes like hell, but not the steering. Turns out the loud bang was the new stick on weights not sticking on:eek: Re balanced and now all ok again. Just shows how something completely unconnected can stop you noticing something else. Also that the hose must have been split for a while before the light came on.
