Fabia vRS retrofit cruise control - impossible?

Featured Replies

I was told at the dealers that it is impossible to install a cruise control in my car, because supposedly it doesn't have the installation for it. They said that they've installed it on other non-vRS Fabias, but that this one is different.

The car is a January 2006 vRS with the BLT engine.

Is this possible?

I have done plenty, it is very possible. vRS is no different from any other except some 1.4 TDis that ive seen that have a 6Q2 Boardnetz ECU, unless yours has one of them.

Had mine done at time when bought it at the dealers mien was and ex demo so def is poss !

Like I said it is usually possible. Dont assume though as his isnt a UK spec car and they might fit a different Boardnetz ECU to thier cars.

Both me and Stu have found that these controls units turn up fairly randomly.

As lummox says it is very possible but not many dealers like to do it or know how to do it. Safe to say I have one or two under my belt :D

How on Earth do you know what ECU is fitted to UWO's car? See posts two and four above!

The Boardnetz controller is located above the throttle pedal under the dashboard knee panel (on a RHD car).

You can also view the part number of the unit with VAG-COM/VCDS or the dealer tool VAS.

Stu did mine on the Fabia, cracking job---just waiting now for some spare bish for him to also do the Octy !!!
