Octy front door replacement speakers

Featured Replies

Hi Guys and girls

Can anyone recommend some replacement 6.5" 2-ways or compenents which would definitely fit straight into the door pods. I understand that the "Custom Fit" Sonys available from Halfords etc. are designed to be mega shallow to fit most cars (especially Frech cars which have very thin doors) but this is bound to compromis the sound quality.

I am happy to spend 60 to 80 quid as long as I know they will fit!

The rear shelf is no problem as there is oodles of space under the speakers so no depth problem there. Any recommendations for a pair of 5.25" 2-ways for about 40 to 60 quid?

Thanks

i've just had some fitted with my install by Andy_CCR and i had a set of Lanzar components.

expensive at 150 odd quid but they were the ones which fitted the best.

PM Andy_CCR and ask his advice.

if not i think he'll be at TRAX '04 on his companies stand.

my install is having the finishing touches made to it today, all thats to be done after that is the sub mounting unit,a fibre-glass unit is on the cards i think, make the most of the space in the side so as not to lose boot space.

hope this helps.

Kenwood KFCPSR71P will fit just fine and sound superb. They aren't a very bassy speaker though so if you aren't using a sub then they probably aren't the best choice.

Many thanks Guys

I am no bass junkie so they may be fine for my needs!

Oh Alex, what do you mean "use the space in the side" for the sub?

M

where the multi-changer is mounted, that side space over the wheel arch,

will mean moving the changer but i've upgraded to a Kenwood Keg system so its all been apart already.

just means not losing boot space and access to spare not hindered.

might have it the sub enclosure finished by TRAX '04.

If you trim off this piece of metal from this

Thanks for the great advice guys.

I'll consider those PSR700s Andy. Thanks, I'll get back to you.

Infinity 625i - are they the ones that they sell in Halfords? So they are good value?

Cheers

Matty
