1.9tdi 1st Service

Featured Replies

I have owned my Fabia 1.9 sport since February and by last Sunday it had racked up 8,400 trouble free miles. When I switched the ignition on the little spanner appeared on the digital display with 800 next to it. I take this to mean that the first service is due in 800 miles. This means that it should be serviced at 9,200 miles which I find a little odd as the car is on the 10,000 mile fixed service interval. Also by today the car had only covered a further 40 miles but the figure next to the spanner now reads 600. Is this figure just a general guide or could there be a fault on the display?

Its telling you in that mileage you will need to book it in for a service.

A difference of 1000 miles isnt anything out of the ordinary, if you know its 10,000 miles or a year then leave it to then.

oh, I was kinda hoping the Mk2 Fabia was on variable servicing... obviously not then.

my first service was at 6000KM and then after every 6000KM

Does the on board computer also bring into consideration what type of motoring the car is doing. Mine is 15 months old with 4800 and the maxidot indictaes another 4000 miles before the first service is required. Have you checked oil level which if it is buring a bit may effect the service interval. If it was new in Feb that is not very good?

my service manual says so ... and they do the workshop does give an estimate in terms of months

they have put a sticker on the inside part of the door ... it can only be seen when the door opens and it says 12169KM next service due

even when buying the car they told me that every 6000km service is required

i have already completed over 9000km

so in 2 months time i will be off for the second service ... i pay almost $150 for servicing

and hey i have the 1.4 TDI naut a 1.9

The oil level is halfway between min and max and it hasn't changed in the last 3,000 miles or so so I'm happy with that.Presumably if your car is 15 months old you should have had your 1st service?

No Fabia II doesnt run variable like the Fabia I (in the uk anyhow).
