but a new'er car...

Earlier this year (beg July) my cherished and fairly well modified Octy met an horrid end, by a bloody drunk (and possibly drugged) women, jumping up and down on the roof/windscreen and rear spolier... i couldnt bring myself to share the news on here with you guys at the time....

But now i've had time to get a new'er Octy :D i thought it might be a good time to say fairwell to what was and hello to my new car :D

Am sure you boys n girls that do so much to their motors will understand how devasted i was when the insurer wrote it off... gutted to say the least... police useless, didnt even bother calling to my house when it happened, jsut drove past *sigh and i told them about footprints and they didnt seem interested about that either.....

anyway some pics...

i do have a lot more pics of the damage (Loss engineer put a repair price tag of £3700 on it :o )... oh last i heard, JBS had an enquiry from Germany about my car.... so i guess it was shipped abroad after being written off by NIG.

Least someones getting some benefit out of her!

oh bugger.... errmmm the other damage pics have gone now... oops been such awhile am not sure how this site all works now. I had to remove thos eto be able to add pic of the vRS...?

Some nice people about aren't there?

How does the new motor compare to the L&K?

  • Author

The first thing i noticed about the vRS is just how planted it is in the corners... mind you the L&K was in desperate need of a suspension fix lol.

And tbh even though the L&K was remapped with the few other mods (still in sig) i cant tell that much of a difference (the vRS feels as quick!) other than in not hearing the DV quite so much, with not having the CAI.

Although i guess that could just purely be the fact i havent driven since July??

May i ask can you still see the pics in first post or not then??? I had to remove them or something as i was upto a limit set on here?

No, I can only see the pic you posted in number 4.

I suggest either setting up a photobucket account, or you can e-mail them to me and i'll gladly host them for you :)

No problem at all :)

oh dear. Sorry to hear about your old car, thats terrible! I was wondering why you never came on here anymore. Anyway, glad your back in the Skoda fold and it looks an excellent choice of replacement. Will keep my eyes peeled for a black vrs around woolley wood bottom now then, if your still in that area. Cheers, Damian

DAMO: Yeah mate... it was an horrible experience, i just wish now, if i'd have known it were gunna get written off, i'd have revoved some of the bits n bobs (the good bits lol)... they only settled @ £2800 :( and that was after a starting offer of £2250

Am glad to be back with a motor, and especially so a vRS this time... handles so much better!!!

GILLYWIBBLE: i'll send some photo's over now if thats ok, went to work and forgot the usb stick oops!

welcome back... cracking price for your new car :)

At least the vandal didnt sue you for injuring herself vandalising your property.

Some nice people about.

Gutted about your old one mate :(

Least you have something to cheer you up though

Cheers Matt.... thats all i'm focussing on (my vRS)... although parts of you after something like this, makes you not want to try so hard in making a nice looking motor (in case something happens), and one of reasons i couldnt bring myself to talk about it when it actually happened in July.

Spending a few thousand on a car makes it more than just a means of A to B as am sure a lot of us can relate too!

I've now invested a couple hundred pounds in an IP CCTV camera too now, with digital recording to HDD :finger: obviously am hoping nothing like this will ever happen again *sigh
