handbrake warning light comes on when going fast???

Featured Replies

my handbrake light comes on the dash when i put my foot down and go round a corner fast any ideas??? i have just had my car remapped to 220 bhp any ideas as it never done it before!!!

thanks in advance

Is the handbrake fully off? Is it actually the HB and not the EMS or the ASR?

I had this on a previous car and it turned out to be low fluid level. Topped up and the problem stopped. May not be that but it's worth a look :o

or the ASR?

Good point !!!

:+1: The handbrake warning is accompanied by three loud beeps, so I wonder if you've mis-identified the light???

Sounds like the extra thrust of the map is lifting the hand brake lever

off the switch :)

check the brake fluid level,it is obviously low and bringing up the warning when it sloshes about when cornering

ill check that thanks and yes the handbrake is defo off and it is the handbrake light with the 3 loud beeps

thank you bri-skoda

Could be a didgy handbrake light switch then. Check the level first then check the switch, they are only a naff plastic thing poked into the side of the lever and sometimes they become unclipped.

Hand brake light and 3 beeps i had when my master cylinder went kept losing fluid, defo check it and be safe.... Had this happen twice since i had my octy.
