DevilsOwn water injection kit - power/torque increase

Featured Replies

I'm thinking about buying this kit and I was wondering what power/torque increase is expected with the DevilsOwn water injection kit (stage 2) installed on a Fabia vRS:

1) standard car, no remap

2) standard car remapped before the installation of the kit, no remap afterwards

3) standard car remapped after the installation of the kit

4) What about modified cars, has anyone measured power/torque before and after the installation of the kit on their car?

It'd be nice to have data.

I find it to be an excellent mod based on percieved performance on a modded fabia.

Anyone actually dyno it?

Id like to know this too :)

I will be dyno'ing my vrs estate with it on in a few weeks once it is finished. Will post results then

Alex

Im going to try and get mine RR'd at RS tuning again in the not too distant. Im just awaiting some methonol. Currently using screenwash, and the improvement in performance is marked. I wouldnt like to band any figures about, but I reckon 10-20 bhp on the screenwash, it feels more but realistically I doubt it.

It has however reduced smoke by a good 70 - 80 %.

1) standard car, no remap - possibly extra +10 to 15bhp

2) standard car remapped before the installation of the kit, no remap afterwards - pointless!

3) standard car remapped after the installation of the kit - extra 20hp over normal remap power I think.

Dave - I got a 220 litre barrel of methanol down here if you need some and passing ;)

Thanks Jason - a little tiny bit out the way :)

You dint quote any projected figures for a hybrid that smoked like a train before it was fitted :P

I'm asking this because my car is already remapped and would like to know what should I expect wit the kit alone, without another remap, which costs twice as much as the WI :)

In your car you can expect a noticeable increase in power when booting it, cooler running and reduced smoke. It's a great mod IMHO.

Forgive me for sounding thick but have you poured screenwash into your diesel tank before the devil thing or have you fitted the mod and do you pour the sw somewhere else???

the devils own uses the screenwash bottle or a separate bottle with wash in it,

by NO MEANS ADD SCREENWASH TO YOUR FUEL,

do a search and there is a guide on how to install from Basil i think

Sorry - It made it sound like the car was remapped before, then returned to stock mapping once the W/M fitted - Hence my "pointless" comment. :D

I would say it would still help a lot, especially if the remap was quite a fuelly/smokey one. :)

iv just had mine RR and will be fitting my W/I this weekend, so should be bak on the same RR within the next couple of weeks. test the gains with it not maped in. its already modded with hybird to 244
