Superb Tyre Life

Featured Replies

Just had two new tyres put on the front wheels of my 1.8T Superb. The others were not quite down to minimum, but with winter coming.....

Anyway, the tyres replaced (Bridgestone) were the same ones that were on when I bought the car - 54,000 miles ago

Granted, most of my driving is motorway and A road, but I've never had a set of fronts last anywhere near that sort of distance. And I've had a lot of cars, and done a lot of miles.

Needless to say, I've gone for Bridgestone again.:D

They are good tyres, I have them on mine, front's I used up in 9.5k but I am a cabby and it's lots of urban and a heavy 1.9 PDi, whereas my Vectra did 26k on the fronts, heavy car heavy wear is how I look at it.

Holy #£$%. 54k!!!

Never heard of a tyre going that long. What Bridgestones were they?

Bridgestone Turanza. I should have kept them and had them framed in my garage, I doubt I will ever have tyres that last that long again:O

Some say they are noisey, I think they are superb myself, you gets what you pay for in tyres, I wanted something good in the wet.

I agree, they're fitted to mum's Furby.... rears are down to about 2-3mm after 14k although she's about to buy a new set as there's a couple of chinks in the sidewalls and a bulge.

Personally I hate them - noisy and not very grippy, seemingly not having the tyre life you got either. Still, that's a Furby and we're talking about Superbs... I've never had them on my car.

I think we all agree on one thing though - 54k is very very impressive!:thumbup:
