Locking dustcaps

Featured Replies

How utterly pathetic that we have to resort to something like locking dustcaps!!!!! came back from manc minus mine yest and poor Lissy was only parked out on my mates road not even a main road or owt. Anyhow - just got some skoda ones off ebay, guess i aught to change the centres to skoda instead of fox now to match.

Must be lucky had my SKODA ones for over 5 years now and they have not been nicked[

Been there :( got some shiney ones with my alloys on my last car... went down to london to the missus's and some pikey ******* stole 2 of them probably for some scratty BMX.

Cost is pretty negligable, its just the annoyingness of some idiot stealing from you

Just use plastic ones?

 had my plastic ones stolen before too... damn kids with bikes i swear

i did it as a kid too. you used to get fancy anodized ones from Lorry's

Fun times :)

Plastic ones just dont look right on shiney wheels lol. Its just absolutely mindboggling why someone would chav them. With any luck, ones that dont come off will suitably annoy any further theiving pikeys.

I am the sort of person who would rather the car blew up if someone tried to pinch it and them be painfully mutated for their efforts than get it back a couple days later with a few extra miles on it.

Just mind if you do put metal ones on to remove them now and again. I had ones cease up on mine, not cheap if this happens I had to cut the valves of remove the tyres replace the valves tyres back on and balance all because the dustcap would not come off

Copper slip/grease mate. costs about 99p from halfrauds... keep it in the car in case I ever need to remove a wheel is always a good idea to pop a bit onto threads before tightening to help stop this

Ive had the same. My dustcaps have been stolen before, kids must like shiney things.

Same thing happend to me had shiney ones on (Not by choice) They were just put on when I had new tyres on.

I will never have them again though exactly what someone said earlyer some chaved up pikey kid on bmx stole mine saw him out of the window but was too late. Id love to find out where the little poo lives and slash his BMX tyres see how the little sod feels.

Was just thinking that on the way home from work bout ten minutes ago.

Magpies I call em If its shiny they nick it !:D

I gave up with shiney valve caps after having loads of sets stolen, including the anti theft one. Even the anti theft ones can be removed, they just need a little more effort and destroy the valve thread as they are removed. So you lose both the caps and need a new valve/balancing etc. at a tyre place.

I switched to black plastic again afterwards.
