Hi guys and gals, I'm after a bit of help with my Ipod classic.

I like to use the "shuffle songs" a lot on my Ipod, but it keeps just repeating the same songs 10 r so songs later - where is the randomness that I asked for?

Have looked in the Ipod and Itunes to change the shuffle setting so that the likelihood of the same song being repeated is practically never, but can't see how to do it!

Can anyone help?

I've noticed both my Nano and Shuffle will play songs from the same album fairly close together when you'd expect more randomness... but then random is random, might just be coincidence on mine.

Your problem sounds a bit more annoying. Have you tried checking for updates and/or doing a restore of the ipod software?

Or even getting a proper MP3 player

When you shuffle them it should number them differnelty each time - so the selected song (one you chose to play) should be song 1 of XXX. Check the number corresponds to the numberof songs in playlist etc.

Try resetting it by holding the Menu and middle button down for 7 (ish) seconds till the Apple logo appears.

Check your settings in Itunes.

Remove the option of playing higher rated songs more often and things should mix up a bit.

Restore it and all will be well, trust me i do it for a living
