Hole in a pipe in engine!! Help!

Featured Replies

Hi guys, I've just found a huge hole in a T-section of pipe at the back of my engine bay. It appears to have perished, but its massive.

What is it, and is it important????

Can you possibly take a pic zoomed out slightly? It's hard to tell from that photo.

Looks grim though :(

Noticed any running problems, lack of boost etc?

Its a breather hose, and yes it needs fixing. Can you smell petrol/fumes in the cabin?

Yup, petrol fuuumes :) :P

Have taken it to local independant who has ordered the bit and will fix it next week. He advised sticking some tape round the hole for now.

Thats the rear of the egr valve isn't it? is it putting the eml on?

Its the main breather pipe on the camcover.

Its at the back on the Superb and on the right hand side on the Octavia.
