stupid g220 question

Featured Replies

As the title says, Santa may bring me a megs 220..the question is..I only want it for polishing/waxing/buffing..is it THAT much better than doing it by hand..if so, which pads do you suggest?

Polishing - Yes much better

Waxing and buffing, no do it by hand.

That's IMHO though.

I agree.

You have PM, by the way! :)

Thanks for the advice folks..roll on Christmas

I've only used my g220 with ag srp and its so much better than by hand.

have u considered the kestrel DAS-6? its the same spec as the g220 but at least £50 cheaper. Plus it doesnt have the bad reliability as some reent g220s

This is pretty much a re-branded UDM, vibrates more than the G220 and the 'recent' problems have been sorted with a revision 2 model.........

Sorry mate have to disagree.

It apparently is no noisier, comes with a spare set of bushes, which the G220's are still eating through and all it seems to be missing is the hard carry case and about 50% of the price.

There are a few reviews of this over on DW.

Then i stand corrected.................:o

Never had a problem with my G220 and it's not only the hard case that is different but I will back down on this one.........

I know the handle is different too and I' sure there are a few other bits, but I'm just passing on the reviews from owners on DW.

One of these is by a detailer who has both machines who pretty much summed up you lose the hard case and that's about it.

That's fair enough mate, I don't claim to be a 'detailing expert' and you seem to be on DW a fair bit so I will take your word for it (even if I don't agree)...............:o
