Vrs oil issue

Featured Replies

What speeds and duration of travel ? If you are doing mostly slow stuff at lower rpm your engine may still not be generating enough heat to vapourise ALL the condensates.

It gets a mixture of driving. It was only slight. Just traces of brown along the edge of the filler cap when i removed it. My old PD with the same driving never had any and that engine takes longer to warm up. Wonder if the Evom's might draw more damp air into the engine.

To be fair the biggest thing I found was a cause of this was not running then engine for long enough once warmed up. About 30 minutes of normal driving once the engine is up to temperature should fix this.

If people are genuinely getting problems with this it might be worth considering the option of an webasto or similar engine pre-heater as this would have the engine and coolant warm before you started driving.

THRASH IT :P

obviously once the oil is nicely up to temp

Always take your spare key to the dealer when you pick up your car.

If you are not happy with them (for £30 or so) drive away using your spare key.

Never be held to ransom! Plus you can check the car inside and out before you get to the service desk and report any damage etc.

Cost of key = £120 the dealer will keep this. Therefore no point in doing that is there.
