So then guys, I'm going to give my 1.8T Occy a treat this weekend and was planning on letting her breathe a little more easily.

In your opinion should I go with a K&N panel, a Pipercross panel or something else...? As always I can't find anything that properly compares the different air resistances of the things.

Or should I just stay put until I can get my hands on a proper non-panel filter?

A panel filter with a rework of the air box should do it

Foam offers better protection than cotton gauze thats why I went with the pipercross panel filter over the K&N. Also it lets you here the DV more than the paper element
