Reverse lamp sensor

Featured Replies

Does anyone know where this is located (exactly) on my 2003 1400 petrol Fabia . The switch is cheap but labour to change it is a lot!

I believe it is either on the bottom front or back of the gearbox... hence why labour can be pricey... means draining oil out of the box usually unless you can whip the old one out and stick the new one in quick enough! lol

It's located on gearbox. If you kneel down on your knees and look on lower part of the gearbox you will see wiring connector. That's the reverse lamp switch.

Be careful and have new switch prepared becouse gearbox oil will become to leak! You can use your thumb to plug a hole while you changing a reverse lamp switch.

Don't remember losing any oil when I changed the one on my Mum's 1.4 16v. I thought that the switch was above the oil level?

I'd check the wiring to the switch as well as these are prone to breaking wires just by the multiplug and often don't get checked.
