RE-install begins

Featured Replies

Changed my mind about design now

Going to try and hide everything away as i now use my boot quite a lot. Dont need loads of space but the things i carry can damage subs and amps easy.

Started removing cables from boot area to make it easyer to work.

Made flat pack box. Carpeted and subs put in.

Box placed in boot for trial fitting.

Pulled power cables through into position where cap is going.

Now you see them now you dont :D

Putting cap behind board so out of sight.

Thinking of putting amps on board then having a window to look at then but also have a cover so the window will not get scratched.

Just got to wait for my amps to turn up

Looking goooooooooood!

I got part way there today too, as I fully wired in my Rockford, leaving only the speaker wires to fit when I do the comps. It was convenient having those luggage/strap brackets in the boot because it provides a very convenient earthing point!

Oh, forgot - need to find some thin wire for the remote wire and a switch so I can run the Rockford but not the Kenny, when I've got the subs out to carry luggage. :D

I used the earthing points that came on the car just behind the wheel arch.

Dont think i will be doing much tomorrow as going on the  tonight.

Hard to do my install as making it up as i go along plus not having the amps dont know where to put the cables through.

Brave... I'm one of those people thats a bit numpty sometimes, so I always try and help myself along by being in full possession of all facts needed, especially amp sizes and which sides power on, etc. Even if I choose to ignore 50% of them. :D

Well didn't get to ****ed last night as spent most of my time at the bar waiting to be served :thumbdwn:

Efforts of today.

Made surround and carpeted rear of board.

Re-install_7.JPG

Holes for cables put in and screwed to back of bass box.

Re-install_5.JPG

Trial fit of front before it is profiled to the amps.

Going to carpet the inside of the box with a light grey i think. Have to get some tomorrow. Power cap and power distribution all in and cabled up behind the board.

May even put a neon or 2 in :nono:

I like the idea. Should pretty good when finished

I'm SOOOO glad I have a boot false floor now because it means I can leave the wiring underneath all over the shop and its all hidden! :D Today I realised my Kenny needs unscrewing and re-screwing in, as it ain't aligned with the window (which I filled with the clear perspex yesterday! )

But seriously, when my boot floor is out, it looks like a birds nest with two amps sat amongst it.

Never mind Jason, it'll look better upside down :D

Never mind Jason, it'll look better upside down :D

:finger: :P

(lets hope this time I have the foresight again to pin the sub box down by the passenger seat. :D)
