one-use clips

Featured Replies

What's the best method for getting the factory fitted one-use clips off of the hoses in the engine bay?

I was trying to take the Bosch dv out today to clean it and check it and I spent about half an hour trying to get one of the clips off (pliers, screwdriver and a lot of swearing method) ... in the end got it off and replaced it with a hose clip but after all that fuss I don't want to try taking the other one off (the one holding the dv to the intake piping) unless it's easy because I reckon I'll end up breaking something!

Honestly? I normally just hack them apart from a flathead trying hard not to damage the pipe.

They are a MASSIVE pain :(

usually get a pair of side cutters on and mangle the clip off, then jubilee clip back on

slip a flat headed screwdriver under the open end of the clip and prize upwards. The clip will spring off its notch.
