alpine hu to skoda wiring

Featured Replies

Got a really nice Alpine head unit that i had iin my audi with the Alpine control unit for my ipod. I bought the connectors to fit it to the Audi, would they be the same as the skoda ones??

Also would it still show on the maxi dot screen track ect, and finally i know the head unit is remote enabled would this still work on mr steering wheel controls

Yes the connectors will work.

Unless you have some sort of interface neither the maxidot nor controls will work.

super fast responce Lummox, I'll have to get on and find out if i can get an interface lead for the screen and controls then, to be honest not too bothered about the controls but if they are there i suppose it would be nice to have them working.. but defo want the maxidot to work. cheers

The maxidot works from the std headunit via canbus so cant see it working.

oh rubbish!!

defo want the maxidot to work......

I've got an Alpine 9885R head unit and my iPod is hard-wired into it.

The maxidots read all the track info which scrolls album title, track name and artist alternately across the screen.

Plus, track up/down switching is available on the head unit.

That's about it, but it's enough for me as I leave it permanently on shuffle mode.

How this is connected? Is there some sort of CAN-box between HU and cars radio connector?
